Neuropsychological and psychoeducational testing for MCAT, bar exam, SAT, and ACT accommodations.
High-stakes exams are meant to measure what you know. When a disability or condition affects how you test under standard conditions, accommodations help your score reflect your ability instead of the barrier.
KMN Psych provides the neuropsychological and psychoeducational testing used to document accommodation requests, for college entrance exams like the SAT and ACT and professional licensure exams like the MCAT and bar exam. The exam changes. The careful, standardized evaluation behind your request stays the same.
Getting the right accommodations can make the difference between achieving your professional goals and facing unnecessary barriers. Our experienced team understands the specific requirements for professional exam accommodations and provides the detailed evaluations necessary for approval.
We provide neuropsychological testing for MCAT accommodations.
Accommodations on the MCAT are approved by the AAMC for test takers whose documented condition affects how they test under standard conditions.
You may qualify with:
Our 15 to 20 page report covers the elements the AAMC asks for: diagnosis, current testing data, functional impact, history of accommodations, and recommendations with a clear rationale.
We provide accommodations testing for the bar exam, including the California Bar and the MPRE.
Common qualifying conditions include ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, and other documented disabilities.
In California, here’s what to know:
Taking the MPRE too? It’s handled separately by the NCBE, and one current, thorough evaluation can usually support both.
We provide psychoeducational and neuropsychological testing for SAT accommodations.
SAT accommodations are approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). An IEP or 504 Plan alone does not guarantee approval.
You may qualify with:
The College Board wants documentation that identifies the diagnosis, explains how it affects timed testing, and links each accommodation to it. Our evaluation provides that using objective standardized measures rather than self-report alone.
We provide neuropsychological and psychoeducational testing for ACT accommodations.
ACT reviews documentation under the ADA and the DSM-5. Without a current IEP or 504 Plan, ACT requires a qualified professional’s evaluation showing the diagnosis, its impact on a major life activity, and why each accommodation is needed.
You may qualify with:
A comprehensive evaluation is built to meet these standards.
Our team knows the documentation requirements for MCAT, bar exam, SAT, and ACT accommodations. We understand what each testing agency looks for and build your evaluation to meet those criteria.
We use proven, standardized measures, including the Wechsler intelligence scales (WAIS-5 for adults, WISC-V for students) and the BRIEF-2, to document your cognitive profile with objective data rather than relying solely on self-report.
Accommodation requests can take weeks to months for an agency to review, so we prioritize quick scheduling and a fast report. Most reports are ready within 2 to 3 weeks of testing.
Our detailed 15-20 page reports include the elements required by testing agencies: diagnostic information, functional limitations, accommodation rationale, and specific recommendations tailored to exam demands.
Here’s what to expect, from your first call to your final report. The process is streamlined but thorough, so your documentation is ready when you apply.
We begin with a detailed phone screening to understand your specific needs, timeline, and accommodation goals. We'll review your history and determine the appropriate testing battery.
Our comprehensive evaluation is tailored to meet the specific requirements of professional exam accommodation requests. The testing session is designed to thoroughly document your cognitive profile and functional limitations. Our testing session includes:
Creating a comprehensive report that meets all agency requirements is crucial for accommodation approval. Our reports are specifically designed to address the documentation standards of professional testing organizations. Within 2-3 weeks, you'll receive a comprehensive 15-20 page report including:
We're available to clarify report findings, communicate with testing agencies if needed, and provide additional documentation if requested.
Timing is absolutely critical when applying for professional exam accommodations. Missing deadlines typically means waiting for the next testing cycle, which can delay your career timeline significantly.
Understanding MCAT accommodation timelines is essential for successful planning. The AAMC has strict deadlines that cannot be extended, making early preparation crucial. MCAT accommodation requests require 60+ days for review, and approvals must be finalized at least 15 days before your test date. We recommend scheduling your evaluation at least 4-5 months before your intended MCAT date.
Bar exam deadlines are even more stringent than MCAT requirements, with most states requiring submission well in advance of the examination period. Bar exam accommodation deadlines typically fall 80-90 days before the exam, with some states requiring even earlier submission. Plan to complete your evaluation 6+ months before your bar exam.
When a documentation review is required, the College Board can take up to seven weeks. Approval has to be in place before test day, or scores can be canceled. Students who already have accommodations through an IEP or 504 Plan and apply through their school often move faster. We recommend completing your evaluation a couple of months before your intended SAT date.
ACT accommodation requests are due by the published deadline for your test date, which usually falls around the regular registration deadline. Requests typically go through a school official, and your documentation has to be complete and current first. Because that takes coordination, we recommend completing your evaluation at least a few months ahead.
Don’t wait until the last minute. Professional exam accommodations have strict deadlines, and late applications are typically not accepted under any circumstances.
Don’t let an undiagnosed or undocumented condition keep you from testing on a level playing field. Our comprehensive testing provides the documentation you need to request accommodations on a range of exams, including the MCAT, bar exam, SAT, and ACT.
Comprehensive evaluations typically require 4-6 hours of direct testing time, usually completed in a single session or spread across two appointments based on your needs and stamina.
Bring any previous psychological or educational evaluations, school records, medical records, and a list of current medications. We'll provide specific instructions when you schedule.
Reports are typically completed within 2-3 weeks of your evaluation. Rush processing may be available for urgent deadlines.
While our comprehensive reports have high approval rates, we can provide additional documentation or clarification if needed. Some testing agencies allow appeals with additional evidence.
Depending on timing and specific requirements, one comprehensive evaluation may support applications for multiple professional exams. We'll advise you on the best approach for your situation.
